#6. Giving praise when shooting

Jamie decides to take Brianna bee hunting. While they’re out, he teaches her how to load a musket and fire it. This is vastly different to the type of shooting she’d done in the past, but she catches on quickly. On top of that, she has excellent aim. Of course, Jamie is proud of what seem like natural talents.

Instead, he learns that Frank had taught her how to shoot. He taught her a lot of things that she’d need to know in case she was ever in the 18th century, almost setting her up for coming to the past.

Understandably, Jamie is a little uncomfortable knowing someone else raised his daughter, but he doesn’t do anything to ruin this moment. It’s going to be fun seeing the bee hunting scene play out in full.

#5. Singing the lullaby

Jamie had a lot of hopes and dreams as a father. As an 18th-century family man, that’s not surprising. His parents had raised him to be a kind and caring man, supportive of his wife and to become a good dad. Having dreams of what he would do with his children as bairns and then later as adults were perfectly normal.

He never got to live that out with Brianna, but he’s not going to stop with that dream. When Brianna needs him to comfort her, he sings the lullaby that he would have sung her as a baby. This is another beautiful moment to see him as a dad and his feelings open and raw. Plus, there’s the hilarious moment of Brianna telling him that he can’t sing.
