Keep most of the story on the last section of the book

Outlander Season 4 is seeing the book take out of order in parts. This was something Ron D. Moore shared would likely happen. It’s something that could also work for “The Feiry Cross.” Some of the elements towards the end of the book could be pulled forward. More focus could be placed on the latter of the book, cutting down the amount of time on the quiet snippets at the start.

This is something Twilight did with the second novel. “New Moon” had a 100-200-page section that was just boring and monotonous. It was a lot of whining from Bella, rather than getting on with the storyline. It should have been important for Jacob’s storyline, but was too focused on the main protagonist. The movie changed that, making you forget that you found the section of the novel bland.

Join with “A Breath of Snow and Ashes”

A third option is for Outlander Season 5 to be focused on two books instead of one. While the first four seasons are individual books, the showrunners and writers continually look at whether they should split up the books, join them together, or do something different. It all depends on the story to be told and how it all translates on the screen.

There is the chance that Outlander Season 5 would include parts of, if not all, “A Breath of Snow and Ashes.” This would give more action but it would mean a shorter show since the writers would run out of material sooner.
