Outlander Season 4 casting: Craig McGinlay lands role

Craig McGinlay will join Outlander Season 4 as one of Drums of Autumn’s more minor characters.

With still so long before Outlander Season 4, fans are looking out for any information possible. We want to know filming locations, when our old favorites will return and any new faces joining the cast. The latest news is about the latter of those things: a new face. Glasgow’s Craig McGinlay will join the cast in one of “Drums of Autumn’s” more minor roles.

Who will Craig McGinlay play?

Best known for his role of Sir Percival in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, McGinlay will take on the role of Andrew MacNeill. The character is one of the more prominent members of the Scottish community near Cape Fear and a plantation owner. He helps to point the Frasers in the direction of the lynching, so his character is expected early on in the fourth season of the series.

He will then likely pop up later. For those who haven’t read the books, we won’t share anymore. There will be a separate piece all about Andrew MacNeill later for those who want spoilers and those who already know them.

Andrew has a son and two spinster sisters. Casting on the three other characters is yet to be announced.

While the character is minor, he is also important to push the storyline forward. Things could change, of course. The showrunners haven’t been afraid to make some changes to the books for their show and that is certainly happening in Outlander Season 4. Ron D. Moore previously shared that while the basic storyline will be the same (and fans will recognize the individual storylines) some of the order may change.
