Outlander fans from Falkland, Scotland may be getting a surprise visit
If you love Outlander and live in Falkland, Scotland you might be getting a visit from Claire and Jamie
Outlander season 4 is currently underway with filming. Despite Season 4 being set in America, filming has been in Scotland. Fans have already spotted filming happening, but it looks like one particular village in Scotland is preparing for the arrival of Claire and Jamie.
Where and when?
Reports from local newspaper The Courier has reported that the Fife village of Falkland is currently preparing itself for the arrival of the cast and crew of a highly popular TV series. The name of the series hasn’t been mentioned, but it’s widely expected by fans and the publication to be Outlander.
The village has been used previously for the filming of the show. As the village has up to 28 listed buildings, it has been perfect for depicting the city of Inverness during the period that Outlander is set.

It was used for scenes in both Seasons 1 and 2 with, The Covenanter Hotel acting as Mrs Briad’s Guesthouse and the Bruce Fountain being the place where Frank caught Jamie’s ghost watching Claire through her bedroom window in the premiere episode.
Filming in the village is expected to take place on Thursday and Friday this week (25/26 January), although the Fife Council website has listed that filming will be from Wednesday until Friday. Several streets are closed, including Falkland High Street, Cross Wynd, Mill Wynd and East Port, during this time.
Outlander has used various locations in Scotland for filming, including places such as Linlithgow Palace, George Square and Glasgow Cathedral (both in Glasgow), and Midhope Castle. Tourism has seen a huge boost thanks to the show and you can actually take an Outlander location tour.
