Claire thought she was smart adding a zipper to her corset, but will it get her in trouble in Outlander season 3, episode 11?

There has been minimal information released about Outlander season 3, episode 11. The photos released only share Claire’s storyline for the episode, as does the first sneak peek released.

During the sneak peek, Claire has been restrained to a bed. A woman harshly watches over her, apparently refusing to untie the restraints because Claire wouldn’t stop scratching. Either Claire has been bitten by a snake or is suffering from severe sunburn after her time out on the beach. It’s hard to tell which, although sunburn looks likely.

It’s the ending to the sneak peek that’s important, though. The woman caring for Claire has spotted the zipper in her corset. Zips weren’t created until the early 20th century, so it’s not that surprising that it is going to raise questions.

This won’t be the first time a modern-day item of clothing has raised questions. In the very first episode Claire explained her bra as being a French item. She will likely do the same thing with the zipper, explaining it as an English or Scottish item of clothing. Honestly, surely the material of her clothing (made out of raincoats) should have raised suspicions already!
