Get your first look at the Outlander Season 3, Episode 10 photos
The weekly gaps between Outlander episodes can be a drag. To help ease them, here are the released images for Outlander Season 3, Episode 10.
“Heaven & Earth” looks like an exciting episode. While Jamie gets himself restrained because he wants to sail after Claire, Claire has to rush to find a way to save sailors dying from typhoid. The promo photos for the episode have been released, but they certainly don’t answer all the questions fans have.
Here is a look at the promo photos, with some takeaways for the episode.
Some of the sick crew still below deck
Claire made a point in the last episode that the sick crew members need to be taken above deck. They need fresh air and sunlight to help fight their infections. However, one of the promo photos shows that some of the sick are still somewhere inside and possibly below deck.
It looks like there is some sunlight coming through the rafters above, but the rest of the lighting appears to be lanterns. Has the captain not listened to Claire’s request? Did the healthy crew not like the idea of the sick being out in the open? Are there just too many that Claire has to allow some to be below deck?
Claire will learn more about the British ship
In one photo, it looks like Claire has a chance to learn more about the British ship. While tending to the sick, she has a helper in the form of young Elias Pound. When Claire first saw him in “The Doldrums” she was shocked, and likely due to his young looks. The officers who have had to step in with the running of the ship are extremely young due to the sickness killing their superiors.
During treatment of the sick, Claire will likely talk more to Pound. She’ll have the chance to learn more about how the sickness started, why such young people are in positions of authority, and what the British were doing and where they were going. This will likely help her find the source of the disease or just understand more about the world of the 18th century.
Onboard funerals will be held
The Outlander Season 3, Episode 10 promo shows that crew members are dying from typhoid. It isn’t surprising to see a promo photo of Claire and other crew members with solemn looks on the deck. It is likely that they are holding an onboard funeral, which will likely involve the throwing of bodies overboard to attempt to avoid the spread of infection and disease.
Claire will learn more about the beliefs of sailors in the episode. Will she argue with them or finally accept that the 20th century practices and beliefs aren’t always welcome?
Jamie will attempt to get Claire back
The promo and sneak peek both show that Jamie will want to follow the British ship to save Claire, but he’ll be restrained before that happens. The promo photos cement that idea.
One photo shows that Jamie won’t just be restrained by crew members’ arms. One of the crew will point a pistol at Jamie, making sure he doesn’t try to fight back. All Fergus can do is watch as Jamie is restrained and taken below deck.
