This episode was huge for Jamie (Sam Heughan) because it was the first that was told from his point of view. Technically speaking it was the ONLY episode told entirely from his point of view, and executive producer Ron Moore explained this to us in countless videos. It was the first episode in the second half of Season 1 and bridged the gap between Claire’s story and Jamie’s story and THEIR collective story.

The opening scene, which is included in the video above is an excellent monologue and gives us the perfect inside look into Jamie’s mind and the type of man he is.
