In one of the most heart-breaking scenes to watch (up until Wentworth Prison and then To Ransom A Man’s Soul), Jamie gives Claire the choice to go back to her own time. Not only does he believe her outlandish story (see what I did there…) he gives her the chance to have her old life back, despite loving her so deeply that he’d risk literally everything for her.

It’s beautiful. It’s painful. It’s wonderful.

Of course they end up together, in the end, because Claire loves him, too.
