This is a talking point that comes up on every single relationship post. The adage, “Communication is key,” has almost become a meaningless saying. We’ve heard it so much that it’s almost as if we don’t comprehend it’s true meaning.

Well, there is a reason everyone talks about communication. Communication is a relationships best friend, and not just for romantic relationships.

Being able to express yourself to a friend or partner is one of the greatest gifts you can give them. Specifically I’m thinking of the secret Claire carried around with her for so long… Of her true time, her place, her home… When she finally told Jamie and opened up with him, their relationship was able to blossom into what we all know it to be. And, of course, when Jamie gifted her her freedom and offered her the choice to return to her own time by taking her to Craigh na Dun, she chose him. She stayed.

Being so completely open and honest with someone allows them to reciprocate and connect on a spiritual level. And that spiritual connectedness fosters intimacy.
