Everything about Jocasta is revealed in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 110
The Frasers get Phaedre to Fraser’s Ridge, but it’s not long before Jocasta comes to see them in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 10. It’s time for secrets to come out.
This all starts with Jamie and co. figuring out what to do with Phaedre. They can’t take her to River run. That’s not a safe place for her, so they take her back to Fraser’s Ridge to recover for now. Then they will need to figure out what to do with her and the knowledge she has. They also need to figure out what to do with the information that Jocasta and Ulysses are together.
Jocasta, Duncan, and Ulysses end up visiting, though. It’s time for a lot of secrets to come out, and it’s time to bring Jocasta’s story to a close. After all, River Run has gone and it’s time for everyone to move on.
The chapter hasn’t been used in the series yet. It’s not clear if it will be, and I’ll get to my thoughts on this in the adaptation section.
It doesn’t really foreshadow much that I see. There are still questions about the gold, but they can be answered with whoever took that gold. The chapter is mostly closing the door on some characters.
Let’s dive into A Breath of Snow and Ashes Chapter 110.

Just the Outlander chapter
The chapter starts with the Frasers and MacKenzies discussing what to do about Phaedre. They can’t take her back to River Run, so they take her to Fraser’s Ridge instead. She has a place to recover. Everyone knows the truth about Jocasta and Ulysses now, and it’s clear that it’s not safe for her to be around Ulysses and Jocasta.
They’re interrupted by Jocasta, Duncan, and Ulysses. Duncan shares that there is no money. He’s sold River Run and as much as he can. He’s using the money from that to get Jocasta to Nova Scotia. It’s the best thing with the Revolutionary War starting up and them being Loyalists. Duncan hopes that Hamish MacKenzie (Colum’s son) and others from Leoch who escaped to Nova Scotia will be able to find a home for them.
Meanwhile, Jocasta talks to Claire about Ulysses. Duncan isn’t leaving her. He says he made a vow “for better or for worse,” and he’s keeping that vow. It’s clear to see why he follows Jamie. As for Jocasta, she shares that Ulysses’s name was Joseph and that they’ve been together for some time.
However, Ulysses can’t go with them to Nova Scotia. He goes to the stable that night, where Jamie is waiting with a pistol. Ulysses was going to take Gideon to get away from everyone. He will ride to Virginia where slaves have been promised freedom if they fight. Jamie agrees that Ulysses should die a free man and allows him to leave.
Ulysses does note that he could gain freedom. If he did that, he would need to leave North Carolina in 10 days or risk being recaptured again. He has always chosen Jocasta over his own freedom, but now he does need to leave. Jamie is angry that Jocasta committed adultery, but he does like that she got some sort of happiness when she has always married for duty.
One thing Ulysses does do is share that he didn’t take the gold. He even swears on Jocasta’s head that he didn’t take it. The question remains around the taking of the gold. Who did grab it?
As for Phaedre, Duncan is going to take her to be freed before they leave for Nova Scotia. It’s time for her to get her own taste of freedom.

Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter
Most of this chapter is just wrapping up a few storylines in A Breath of Snow and Ashes. It’s mostly about bringing the last of the secrets about Ulysses and Jocasta so that those characters can ride off to their own lives. Jocasta and Duncan head to Nova Scotia, while Ulysses heads to Virginia.
There’s not that much in the way of traditional foreshadowing. The real part is in the gold storyline. Now we know Ulysses didn’t take it. While he did have reason to, it does seem like he is telling the truth. It would be a death sentence for him to have that gold, even if he was going to be a free man. So, that storyline is still to come.
Adapting A Breath of Snow and Ashes chapter
The chapter hasn’t been used in Outlander. Ulysses is gone, though. We got his backstory and that he had been a free man all this time in Outlander Season 5. While the actual affair isn’t used in the story, we do learn that Ulysses loved his mistress and chose to stay for her.
I do think we’ll get to see Jocasta and Duncan head to Nova Scotia. If they’re not in the scenes, we’ll hear that they have left. However, I suspect we’ll have to see them to work in the gold storyline that was mumbled about in Outlander Season 6.
