Claire and Jamie have been through love, loss, battles, heartache, and so much more. They’re stronger together then they are apart. Here are their 25 best moments from the first three seasons of Outlander
We’ve watched as Claire and Jamie have traveled through time and across oceans to be together. They’re stronger together than they are apart and Outlander Season 4 will finally see finally see them get to start a family and build a home and life together. It’s something they’ve never had the real chance to do.
Of course, there’s a bittersweetness to this. It would have been lovely to see Jamie get the chance to raise Brianna, but that just wasn’t meant to be. There’s no point in dwelling on the bad when there are so many positive moments to focus on. Yes, Claire and Jamie have plenty of positive moments throughout the series.
As we’re leading up to the release of Outlander Season 4, this is only going to be based on the TV series. There are plenty of memorable moments in the books but not all have had the chance to happen (yet).
I also want to start by sharing an Infographic from TV Time, which helped to create the top 10 moments on this list. I’m not going to say if the order of these six are the same, yet, but they were all voted on by the fans using the TV Time app. There’s a missing moment that surprises me!

Now that you’ve seen that, it’s time to delve into the best Claire and Jamie moments thus far in Outlander.

25. At the theater
When it happened: Season 4, Episode 8
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? None. The two were finally on the same page and making their life at Fraser’s Ridge work. The tension was purely due to the situation.
Why it’s the best: There have been many cases when Jamie has been pushed into a corner to support his wife. Other times, he’s known that he’s needed to stand by her or help with a situation she believes is wrong. Outlander Season 4, Episode 8 turned the tables.
We got to see Jamie be the one who had a cause he needed to fight for. Yes, we’d seen Claire stand by Jamie throughout the Jacobite rebellion. The earlier two seasons had been both Claire and Jamie in a give and take relationship. They’d worked as an excellent team.
That bond seemed to disappear in the third season. So, seeing it back in the fourth season was perfect. When Jamie knew he needed to save Murtagh, he needed a distraction. Who better to create that distraction than Claire by operating on someone with a genuine medical condition?
Claire never argued. Of course, she needed to know why Jamie needed the distraction so she knew how much time she’d need to give him. Those were the only questions she asked. Otherwise, she trusted Jamie fully and he trusted her to offer him the time he needed.

24. When Jamie sees Claire is back
When it happened: Season 3, Episode 5
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? Apprehension but definitely no tension between them.
Why it’s the best: We barely got anything of Jamie for a whole episode in Outlander Season 3, Episode 5. This episode was all about Claire making the decision to head back through the stones. It was about giving us something between Claire and Brianna and then really focusing that relationship between Brianna and Roger.
What we did get of Jamie was priceless. After Claire steps through the stones (we just get the view of puddle to puddle for money and ease), she heads straight to Edinburgh and the printshop. Jamie doesn’t realize it’s Claire at first, not looking up to see who had walked in. When he does see her, he stops in his tracks.
This is a man who had spent years dreaming of Claire returning to him. He hoped and prayed that she was safe in the future but missed her greatly and now she was back. You could see the confusion, the shock, the happiness, and every other emotion on his face. You could tell that he didn’t actually know how to feel and whether he actually believed Claire was really there.
And as the emotions got too much, he fainted beautifully. If Claire thought she was nervous at first, how did she feel realizing she’d made her husband faint?

23. When Jamie pushes Claire off his horse
When it happened: Season 1, Episode 1
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? There was plenty of tension between the two and the whole group, as Claire found herself a Sassenach in a dangerous world.
Why it’s the best: In the very first episode, we got the start of this budding relationship. Neither knew it was going to turn into a relationship, but we got the start of it. And Jamie was immediately protective of this English woman who had helped pop his shoulder back into its joint without breaking his arm.
One of the best things about this was that Jamie had listened to Claire and taken her seriously. The others would have likely ignored her and then they’d have been killed. Jamie heard every word she had to say about the rock and how it gave an ambusher the advantage and made sure the others listened.
But the great moment didn’t stop there. He protected her by pushing her from his horse. Sure, she tried to flee after that (and fortunately, it was Jamie who caught up with her) but he didn’t think of her attempt to escape. He just wanted to make sure she was safe. It was that first sign of seeing that and will always stick in our minds.

22. Jamie turning to Claire for advice
When it happened: Season 5, Episode 1
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? At this point, the couple is stronger than ever. Claire and Jamie are surrounded by their family, and they are in a good place together. The tension they face is linked to why Jamie needs Claire’s help.
Why it’s the best: Up to this point, we’d struggled with Claire and Jamie wanting different things. They’d faced different experiences throughout their 20 years apart that it made it difficult for them to find their way back to one another once they were in the same time period again.
Outlander Season 5, Episode 1 sees the two of them completely on the same page. The two just want what’s best for each other and their family.
We get to see Jamie treat Claire as his partner again. He listens to her for advice, but in the end, he makes a decision for himself. He realizes what he needs to do and Claire doesn’t argue. She just has that sad look when Jamie puts on his kilt—and she’s only sad because this is what the trouble in North Carolina has come to.

21. When Claire’s wedding dress was revealed
When it happened: Season 1, Episode 7
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? It wasn’t really tension between them, but more at the situation they (more like Claire) found themselves in.
Why it’s the best: I’ll share a spoiler for the rest of this list, this isn’t the only part of “The Wedding” that will be included. Outlander did wonders with this one episode and this piece is all about moments and not just episodes on their own.
While still drunk, Claire gets ready to marry for the second time. She doesn’t want to, not realizing the relationship she will end up having with Jamie Fraser, even though everything has been created in a way that makes it special for her.
Jamie waits for his bride to show up at the church and then she reveals the beautiful white dress that he’d arranged for Rupert and Ned to get for him. Of course, they would have contacts and of course, it had to come from a whore house. That was all forgotten with the look that Jamie gave Claire. He just admired her for the beautiful bride she was on the day.
And there was a look from Claire. She may have been drunk, but she was also mesmerized by this Highlander warrior she was about to marry. It set up for the passion and love the two would share long into the future.

20. The night Jamie took Claire to safety
When it happened: Season 2, Episode 13
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? This wasn’t really tension but despair at the situation unfolding around them.
Why it’s the best: From the wedding to the moment the two parted temporarily. As the Battle of Culloden loomed, Jamie knew that he had to make sure his wife and unborn child were safe. So, he got her to the stones and encouraged her to go to the future; to Frank.
The two had a beautiful, loving, and heartbreaking goodbye. Jamie made it clear that he just wanted to keep the people he loved safe. He’d already shown that by giving up his inheritance and that of his child (already secretly knowing Claire was pregnant at this point) to keep Jenny and her family safe. Now he was sacrificing his happiness to get Claire to a better time; a safer time.
But that wasn’t all that made this special. Jamie made it clear that he’d kept an eye on Claire and on her monthly cycles. He knew she was pregnant long before Claire was ready to tell him. Knowing he was sending her to let another man raise his child showed the sacrifice he was willing to make. It showed just how much he loved Claire and we loved him even more.
Of course, Claire didn’t want to go. She wanted to be there for Jamie, knowing that if she left, he wouldn’t likely fight for survival. She couldn’t lose him.

19. Jamie and Claire reunite on the ship
When it happened: Season 7, Episode 1
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? No tension. At least, not between the characters. There’s a lot of tension at the situation as a whole
Why it’s the best: Jamie and Ian had to go and save Claire…again. At the end of Outlander Season 6, she’d been taken to Wilmington to face trial for murder. Only, things didn’t work out that way. After initially ending up in jail, she was taken to Governor Martin’s boat to help treat his pregnant wife.
All Claire wants is to get back to Jamie. She manages to get a note to Tom Christie, and he helps her do that. All Tom needed was to know where Claire had been taken from the jail cell.
We then get this reunion that is everything it needed to be at the time. Jamie came through the smog, and we saw Claire’s relief. With Jamie by her side, anything was possible.
It was just a little awkward for the sailor. “That’s not allowed” was just the perfect balance in all this.

18. The time Claire chose Jamie
When it happened: Season 1, Episode 11
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? Tension disappeared in the moment as Jamie learned of Claire’s decision.
Why it’s the best: It was clear that it had to happen to keep this love story going, but it wasn’t clear how it was all going to play out. Would Claire just never find her way back to Jamie?
Instead, what did happen was beautiful, sweet, and perfect. Claire had the chance to make her choice. After Jamie made a sacrifice to send her back through the stones the first time—to the world she was so desperate to return to at first—Claire had to decide what she wanted; who she wanted to be with.
And in the end, she chose Jamie. This scene was certainly done differently to the books, but in a good way. It was clearly for budget purposes, but this gave us that element of clear choice and love. She followed her heart, which told her to remain with this 18th-century Highlander despite the risk.
But it wasn’t just because of the choice that this moment is on the list (otherwise it would just be one of Claire’s best Outlander moments). It was when Claire reutnred to Jamie’s camp. He’d remained behind overnight just to make sure she had gotten through the stones safely. After all, neither of them knew if she could get back through the stones.
We got to see that love and devotion. He was always going to protect her, and he did that knowing she may choose another man. The reunion between them was beautiful as Jamie knew she had chosen him.

17. Bolt the door
When it happened: Season 3, Episode 11
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? There was absolutely no tension between them at this sexy and hot moment.
Why it’s the best: Jumping ahead of Outlander Season 3 with this entry and it’s one of the funniest and sexiest moments of the whole season. While Claire is delirious with infection, antibiotics, and alcohol (oh, and turtle soup), she decides it’s the perfect time to jump on her husband. She wants him and there is nothing stopping her in this moment.
Of course, Jamie tries to do the gentlemanly thing. He knows that she’s not in her right mind at that moment and wants to make sure she can make a choice clearly but she was never going to stop and he certainly gave in.
One of the stand out lines of the third season in “bolt the door.” This wasn’t a request but a command and we watched as Jamie happily followed that command. The two had a lot of making up to do and it was sexy as hell and the perfect bonding moment.

16. Making up in the stables
When it happened: Season 5, Episode 6
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? After Jamie asked to gamble Frank’s wedding ring, there was most definitely tension between Claire and Jamie.
Why it’s the best: By Outlander Season 5, there aren’t many reasons for Claire and Jamie to have any tension between them. They are both on the same side, back in the same time period, and ready to tackle whatever comes their way. However, Episode 6 saw Jamie ask Claire of something she never expected.
The moment in the stables was a moment of angry passion. It’s just something we don’t get to see and there’s no doubt that it was something we were looking forward to. While there was some awkwardness (aren’t all these moments awkward?) there was still plenty of feeling between the two. We got a moment that we haven’t had for some time.
One of the best things about this was that the tension between the couple didn’t last too long. And there were plenty of reminders of the Season 1 arguments.

15. Jamie gives Claire the new ring
When it happened: Season 4, Episode 6
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? No real tension. They’d not had the chance to spend a lot of time with each other as previously Jamie had been in Wilmington and during the episode Lord John Grey had measles, meaning Jamie took Willie away to avoid catching it.
Why it’s the best: Claire and Jamie finally had their home together. They were settling on the Ridge, but other people didn’t help matters. In Episode 6, Lord John Grey had shown up with Willie, putting pressure on Claire and Jamie. However, all things were made right in the end.
Once John had healed from the measles and hte two were on their way, Claire and Jamie managed to get some alone time — something that was evident they hadn’t had for weeks. Jamie bathed his wife and then surprised her with something: a new wedding ring. While it would have brought back memories of the ring that had been stolen, it was also a beautiful moment knowing the effort Jamie had put into getting the ring made. In the previous episode, we’d seen him heading out to the silversmith to get the ring made from one of Ellen Fraser’s candle holders.
This was one of those moments from the book that had been missing. The permanent ring with the message had been given a lot earlier in the book series and many book fans wondered whether we were ever going to get it. The placement of the gift was just perfect, especially the reason it came about. After all, not just any silversmith created the ring from the candle stick hold. Murtagh did it.

14. The talk under the moonlight
When it happened: Season 5, Episode 4
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? The tension is within the situation around them. Claire and Jamie are seeing eye to eye on a lot of important topics at this point.

Why it’s the best: Up to this point, it’s been difficult to see Claire and Jamie together. They don’t always see eye to eye, and the 20-year separation has led to them having vastly different experiences. Life together on the Ridge has certainly helped them come back together and find a comfort within one another.
The discussion under the moonlight at Brownsville makes it clear that the two are at a point of comfort and understanding. Jamie wants to offer Claire the world, and if that means another baby, then so be it.
As flattered and happy as Claire is, she also makes it clear that she’s happy with life the way it is. Sure, they didn’t get the chance to raise Brianna together, but Bree is with them now. They’ve got Fergus and Marsali with them and their grandchildren. There’s all sorts of good, so why disrupt that with a newborn?
They both think of each other and of their future together. And it’s great to see them on the same page.

13. Claire pulls Jamie out of his dark place
When it happened: Season 1, Episode 16
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? There was plenty of tension, as Claire forced Jamie to talk about his ordeal at Wentworth Prison.
Why it’s the best: It certainly wasn’t surprising to see Jamie in such a dark place when at the abbey. He’d been through a living nightmare in Wentworth Prison and had gone through it all knowing that death was going to happen.
And then that death didn’t happen. He didn’t get an out from everything he’d been through and was now in a suicidal place, not caring that it was a mortal sin. Nobody could pull him out of it. Nobody but Claire.
After initially trying to coax him out of it, she decided to fight fire with fire. She made him feel and made him talk. While he may not have wanted to tell her everything that he went through, she made sure that she was the sounding board. Hearing about it wouldn’t hurt her delicate ears and it would do Jamie the world of good.
This wasn’t an instant moment of recovery for Jamie, but it brought the two together. We saw that Claire was more than willing to fight for her man (something we’d seen when she risked it all to go into Wentworth Prison in the first place) and that she would go to hell and back with him, both physically and mentally. This relationship definitely wasn’t one-sided.

12. Claire tells Jamie the truth
When it happened: Season 1, Episode 11
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? There was a little tension. Jamie didn’t know whether to believe Claire was a witch or not and Claire was nervous of telling him the full truth.
Why it’s the best: Claire and Jamie always had the promise of secrets but no lies. The idea was that they would always have things that they’d want to keep to themselves at first, but they would never openly lie to each other. Jamie knew that Claire was hiding things and she’d tell him in due course.
When it came to the time traveling secret, Claire had the chance to open up after her witch trial ordeal. Jamie raced in to save her and that was certainly a swoon-worthy moment, but the best moment was the reveal of the truth.
Claire was nervous, visibly and understandably so. She had no idea how Jamie would take her confession, knowing that she could be viewed as a witch. However, he sat and listened. He trusted her and took her for her word.
This was a slight change from the books where he didn’t fully believe her until seeing her disappear through the stones, and to me, this is what made this scene better. He showed he was willing to trust—he didn’t need to see to believe.

11. Their first meeting
When it happened: Season 1, Episode 1
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? Claire was tense and apprehensive, but it wasn’t between her and Jamie. She was tense at the situation.
Why it’s the best: We have to go back to the beginning, to the scene that started it all. The moment Jamie got a good look at Claire in the cabin sent shivers down our spine. Looking back knowing what we know now, it’s easy to see that he immediately fell in love with this Sassenach.
Claire may have been almost raped and knocked out to “save” her, but she was still very much focused on caring for a wounded man. She was a nurse after all and wouldn’t let someone suffer just for the sake of her pride or her anger towards others. Or maybe to was her pride as a nurse that fueled her need to help Jamie despite her feelings towards these men.
As Rupert almost broke Jamie’s arm, Claire stepped in and moved everyone away. They shared a look that made it clear something was going to happen between them. All we needed was time. And it didn’t take too long, did it?

10. Discussing the wedding contract
When it happened: Season 1, Episode 6
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? This wasn’t really tension between them but tension at the situation. The last thing Claire wanted was to marry.
Why it’s the best: After being saved from Black Jack Randall’s interrogations by Dougal, Claire needed a way to avoid being sent to Fort William. Dougal had an option but it wouldn’t be one that Claire would like. It meant marriage and there was a perfect candidate for Dougal’s need; Jamie.
As Claire looked over the wedding contract, Jamie paid her a visit. The two had a chance to talk through it and Claire learned more about why Jamie was willing to go through it. This was a moment that led to more secrets being revealed and more of an understanding between the two.
The best part was definitely the virgin comment. Who would have thought Jamie was a virgin—without reading the books first? Claire certainly didn’t expect it and you could see that look on her face. But Jamie’s retort about one of them knowing what they were doing was perfect and broke some of that tension. Of course, it also helped lead to the belief they would do it like horses.

9. Safe
When it happened: Season 5, Episode 12
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? Not between the couple. The tension came from the trauma Claire had faced and the threat of the storm rolling in—it’s almost time for the Revolutionary War.
Why it’s the best: Jamie had rescued Claire from her captors and given her time to heal. With the storm rolling in, we got to see Claire in a vulnerable position, wrapped in Jamie’s arms. It could make a woman feel nervous, but she knew that the man she was with would never hurt her.
She’d opened up to him. Whether she told him the whole story is unclear, but she told him something. She found the words, something that Roger had previously admitted to Brianna must be awful to figure out. Yet, Claire found the words and trusted them to Jamie.
In the end, Jamie just held her. He comforted her, and then asked her how she felt. There was just one word to describe Claire in that moment: Safe. She felt safe with Jamie. He was her protector. He was her love.
Jamie isn’t going anywhere. Claire is with Jamie forever. The two are stronger together than apart, and they will always protect each other and be each others’ safe places.

8. The shared moment of happiness at Fergus’s wedding
When it happened: Season 3, Episode 11
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? With Claire and Jamie reunited, all tension had disappeared. The two were in love and ready to start their lives together again.
Why it’s the best: In a way, this is more of a Jamie and Fergus moment, but deep down there’s a Claire and Jamie moment tucked in there. As Jamie officially gave Fergus his name, there was a look from Claire.
She’d considered Fergus her adopted son for a long time. When Fergus went off to fight at the Battle of Prestonpans, Claire was scared. She didn’t know whether to hug or hit him when he returned unscathed but shocked. Jamie also viewed this French orphan as his own, even if there was never an official proclamation.
That’s why the wedding night in Outlander Season 3 stood out so much. As Jamie gave Fergus his name, there was a look from Claire that said everything she was thinking. In a way she was shocked, but it was a happy shock. She was overcome with emotion and you could tell in that moment, she loved Jamie more than ever before.
And then the two just watched as their adopted son married his dream girl and took a new step in life. They were the proud parents, standing together, arm in arm with everything else forgotten.

7. Saving Jamie’s life
When it happened: Season 5, Episode 9
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? There was definitely no tension between the two. However, there was a lot of fear.
Why it’s the best: If there’s one thing that has been a constant for Claire and Jamie it’s that they will do whatever it takes to save each other’s lives. Claire did just that on Outlander Season 5, Episode 9.
After Jamie was bitten by a snake, Claire feared she wouldn’t be able to save him. On top of that, he refused to allow his leg to be amputated, which would have meant death. There nearly wasn’t chance for a second discussion about it when Jamie’s temperature dropped and his heart rate slowed to an almost stop.
Claire had no choice but to find a way to warm him up and get his heart rate back up. But how would she do that? Without even thinking, she ripped off her nightgown and hugged him tight. She then found a way to bring his heart rate up with just her hands.
This was a scene straight from the books. It was one that showed the love Claire has for Jamie, making it clear that even on the brink of death, only she would know how to revive him. And this moment was a turning point for Jamie. He released her from her word about not amputating his leg and agreed life was better with one leg than no life at all.

6. Claire confessing about the ether
When it happened: Season 6, Episode 7
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? There has been a lot of tension between Claire and Jamie, but not because the two don’t trust each other or love each other. Claire has just struggled to speak out about her trauma and PTSD after the attack at the end of Outlander Season 5.
Why it’s the best: The two finally find some sort of peace between them. There had been a disconnect throughout the sixth season, which is understandable after the attack on Claire. All the other drama and scandal that arrived on the Ridge threatened to tear them further apart.
However, this moment brought them together. Claire found the courage to tell Jamie everything she was thinking and feeling. She didn’t just confess to using ether to cope, but she also explained the full reason why. It was all about Claire feeling guilty for so much bad that had happened.
Jamie could have focused on the ether. Instead, he shared all the good that Claire’s “selfishness” brought the entire family. Yes, there’s bad, but there’s also some amazing things. And then he ended it with making it clear that he will always be there for Claire and never think less of her. That we can fully believe.

5. The talk of lost children
When it happened: Season 3, Episode 6
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? There was some tension, as the two brought up topics of the past. Most of it revolved around how Claire would take the news of Willie.
Why it’s the best: After Jamie saw Claire again after 20 years and fainted, the two had a chance to talk. Of course, the first topic of discussion was Brianna. Jamie needed to know that his child was safe and wanted to know as much as possible. After initially getting over the name, he was able to look through the photos and get a chance to see her grown up.
This led to a talk about all lost children. Faith was mentioned, bringing up a beautiful moment between the two. It would have been easy for them to try to forget their stillborn daughter, but that wasn’t going to happen. She would always be a part of them.
Then came the talk of Willie. I know this isn’t a favorite part for many, but Willie is such as important part in Jamie’s life and this continued that focus on trust. Jamie hadn’t told anyone the truth about Willie. Only Claire had the privilege of knowing because he knew that she would never tell anyone.
It mimicked the time Claire told Jamie about her time traveling secret. Jamie became the first person she told and Claire was the first person he told. A beautiful symmetry.

4. The night Jamie took Claire to the stones
When it happened: Season 1, Episode 11
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? This wasn’t really tension. The two just believed it may be their last night together, especially Jamie who didn’t know which choice Claire was going to make.
Why it’s the best: Culloden wasn’t the first time Jamie took Claire to Craig na Dun. After learning the truth about time travel, Jamie took Claire to the stones and allowed her to return to Frank. However, that wasn’t without a beautiful and loving moment.
Jamie decided he wanted one more night to feel and be with his wife. He wanted a night that would please her, once again making him selfless. Even when Claire wanted more from him, he wouldn’t give her it, making sure the pleasure was all hers. It was intimate and passionate, everything that their life would be together.
And in a way, this would help to build that bond further. Their love was like no other and it was clear in this moment that Claire felt more than she ever did for Frank. It should have been clear in this moment that Claire was always going to choose Jamie.

3. After Malva lies
When it happened: Season 6, Episode 6
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? There had already been a little tension because of Claire’s PTSD. However, the tension here was intense after Malva lied about sleeping with Jamie. Claire wasn’t sure what to believe at this point.
Why it’s the best: This moment brings up a lot of what Claire has been feeling for some time, while foreshadowing the true reason Lionel Brown keeps popping up. She knows that she shouldn’t even be in the past. This isn’t her time.
If she wasn’t in the past, Bree and Roger wouldn’t have come back and Jemmy would watch cartoons like a regular 20th century kid. She has all this guilt, but it was worth it all for Jamie. She loved him, and she thought he felt the same way. Is that really the case?
It’s not often we see moments of doubt between the two of them anymore. This is one of them, reminding us that they are like every other married couple. They are going to have disagreements, but that love between them is real. It has been worth it, and Jamie makes that very clear.

2. The night together after the reunion
When it happened: Season 3, Episode 6
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? Some tension was there because of nerves and anticipation. However, it was all about reconnecting.
Why it’s the best: With Claire and Jamie now back together after 20 years, it’s time for their first night together. This is one of the best moments for a variety of reasons and the main one is the way it mimics the wedding night.
After 20 years apart, there’s plenty of apprehension and nerves at first. The two have become different people. They have new scares and new bodies. They’re different people mentally, with the events in their lives dictating who they have now become. It’s not surprising that they have that moment of nervousness and uncertainty.
That all disappears. In the way it did on the wedding night, the two are able to connect in a way they’ve never connected with anyone else. They’re the only two people who matter in the world and they don’t want anyone or anything to tear them apart again.
After the initial quick fumble in the sheets, they move onto one of the most passionate nights they will ever have together. They’re not just reconnecting physically or mentally. Their souls are finding each other again.

1. The wedding night
When it happened: Season 1, Episode 7
Any tension between Claire and Jamie? There was some tension but more due to nerves than anything else.
Why it’s the best: Was there really going to be another moment that would take the top spot? I’ll be honest and say that I was surprised it wasn’t included in the TV Time poll results. The wedding night is one of the most talked about moments and it certainly is the greatest moment throughout the whole series for this couple.
There was such a buildup to this. The two had to find their way to each other. Through glances and touches, they build their connection.
However, it’s not just about the buildup but the way the two interact. Jamie wants to make sure Claire is ready for their night. In a way, she’s acting like the virgin, the one unsure of what’s to come and how to do things. She stalls to prepare to consummate their relationship.
And Jamie gives her that time in a loving and kind way. Any other man would have taken what was considered his property, but Jamie gives his wife time, showing that he wants them to be equals.
Then there is the moment they connect physically. Jamie wants to learn from Claire to make sure he pleases her. Another sign of equality and love, the two build their bond on love and trust, something that continues to this very day.
