Diana Gabaldon, the author of the Outlander novels that the Starz TV series is based on, was recently caught kissing Sam Heaughan (Jamie Fraser) during an on-stage Q&A session in Germany. Fans all over the globe nearly imploded from ultimate jealousy.
So what’s the deal between the two of them?

It should come as no shock that the cast and crew, including Diana who has been very involved with the creative process of the TV show, are incredibly close. One only needs to take to Twitter and check out Sam and Cait’s Twitter feeds to see they are a close knit group of actors and have a good time with each other.
In a recent Q&A session in Germany at RingCon, the cast and creative team members involved ALL exchanged smooches, which totally explains the pic snapped. Diana clarified later on Twitter, saying,
“We’d just done a successful show and everybody was kissing/hugging everybody onstage. Gary kissed me about ten seconds after that, and Graham kissed me before Sam did.”
According to an Inquisitr article, the Con may have had some difficulty getting people to attend. The Outlander group drew quite a crowd, though, and the cast and crew involved in the panel were excited about how well things went.
So, there you have it. You may still have a chance, ladies. Although, I still see good reason to be jealous of Diana. Those lips have seen so much… Alas, there is no juicy tale of a blooming love story between author and actor. This time.
Outlander Season 2 is currently in production and set to premiere in early 2016, although no date has yet been announced. Stay tuned!
