Welcome to Outlander, the Starz book-to-screen adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s best selling series of the same name. I’m going to go ahead and assume that since you’re at Claire & Jamie, you don’t need much of an introduction into Outlander. In case you do, though, I’ll give you the Reader’s Digest version:
Claire Randall travels back in time, through the mysterious and magical standing stones at Craig na Dun. When she steps through the stones she’s transported to 1743 Scotland, and is immediately embroiled in clan MacKenzie, and a young, strong, handsome Highlander named Jamie. While she tries to get back to her own time- and her 1945 husband Frank- she is thrown into the Scottish-English political scene and soon finds herself forced to marry Jamie, and make a choice about whether she wants to stay or go.
The first season of the hit Starz TV show follows (roughly) the first book in the eight-book series, and in each episode recap, we’ll break down what’s going on both on and off the screen.
