I touched on the author a bit when I talked about the books she’s written, but there is more to Diana Gabaldon than her books. The woman is one of the wittiest, smartest, classiest people I’ve ever laid eyes on. Want some proof?

She’s a genius. Diana holds degrees in Zoology, Marine Biology, and has a Ph.D. in Quantitative Behavioral Ecology AND was given an an honorary degree as Doctor of Humane Letters.

She’s gorgeous, and classy. During the Scottish vote of Independence that took place last year, Diana posted SEVERAL times about her position- which was that she didn’t feel she was entitled to a position given that she’s not a Scottish citizen. It was the perfect way to handle the situation, seeing as she’s been made the unofficial adopted Scottish ambassador to the US, and maybe vice-versa.

Oh, and she had a cameo in the show like the boss that she is.
